hm, so if a bunch of people who didn't want jobs suddenly started doing this to employers, they could essentially irl DDOS them

    :bean-think:

    interesting

One time when I was working a coffee gig I went back to my hometown for the weekend to hang out with an old friend. While I was there I got a really bad sinus infection, pretty sure I had a fever and just generally felt like complete shit.

I explained to my manager that I was really sick and couldn't possibly drive back for my next shift/s. I continued to be pretty sick and my manager started hounding me right away to come back and in the end I decided I'd had enough and just ghosted them.

Funny thing is I got a job in the same place this coffee spot was and ended up running into them all the time, except my new job had far better management. No regrets. Solidarity with anyone doing the same. They fuck you any chance they can get, you owe them nothing.

see, i'm seeing a bunch of these stories, about how employees won't work on retail or mom and pop's burger store for $11 an hour and this about workers ghosting employers implying that there's more job offers than there are candidates, and then i look at the border crisis in both mexico and the US. historically when there's a lack of workers, the US will relax the border and offer working visas en masse, but the opposite is happening, it's becoming stricter. so there's something fucked going on here. why are they pushing this idea so hard when there's obviously no shortage of workers whatsoever? is it because of covid relief? are you even getting covid relief in the US? why would they want to push this narrative so hard, i don't get it.

No there's no covid relief in the US, except for a small stipend for parents. They slashed unemployment as well.

I'd say it's contradicting forces at work but Biden is the one ramping up border security, so I'm not really sure. I was thinking about this as well.

Some ghouls could be using the senility of Biden to get things prepped for the real fascists to takeover, they're certainly making the conditions perfect for it.

Wait for the eviction crisis to really happen, prolonging it just a bit actually may have made things worse as it's just getting people more underwater.

That'll be the time they start really revving up the para-militaries.

Imagine receiving no reply when answering a job application. I've never heard the like

Lol the grocery store I was at last night apparently had someone just leave in the middle of his shift and not tell anyone, no one noticed for awhile either I guess, so there was literally no one at any of the lanes and it was just the self check outs running it all with a rentacop just standing there.

Oh and there was one person who was cleaning the carts but she looked very obviously just PTSDing out while staring at her sanitizer.

Felt fucking weird. Just robots and a cop guarding a store with way too many empty shelves.

Probably not the greatest sign yeah?

Haven't applied for a job in almost a year. I still get emails from some company I don't even remember applying for saying "we have decided on someone else."
