They've sent multiple brigades into Gaza right? And this one alone took 1250 casualties? Seems like they were completely unprepared to fight someone that weren't 10 year olds throwing rocks.

I'm not surprised. They can't afford to keep it up. The mobilization was costing Israel something like over $100M per day along with tourism and regular economic activity dropping significantly. I believe they're anticipating their economy to contract by ~15% which is massive. Not to mention, they're flirting with a regional war with the Houthis and Hezbollah.
My biggest fear is that they'll retreat, get out of the news cycle, and continue a low-grade bombing campaign that's restrained just enough to avoid media attention.
