How can anyone who thinks UBI will be necessary not be a Communist? If you really think that UBI is the future because of automation what makes you think UBI can be achieved without radical changes to who owns the wealth and political power?

    I absolutely hate UBI discussions.

The concept of UBI is that of anti-riot bribes by Capital to the working class.

After all why would a UBI be necessary in a proletarian dictatorship. You get higher pay because you don't have a CEO or stockholders taking a lions share, and you work less because you distribute the workload among a greater number of people while meeting quotas for sustainment of society instead of overproduction for the sake of profits.

It's the basic understanding that there is some sort of 'unfair' ownership distribution going on, but it does not connect that to being a systemic issue that is serious enough to condemn the system.

It's proto-leftist you might say? But it can definitely be adopted by bad actors or those who would block reform.
