Sometimes I think about what it must have been like to be part of the Paris commune. Breaking down the doors to a mansion, storming inside, and seeing something as gaudy as this. All the suffering of everyone outside, all the excess deaths of their children and the opportunities denied to them, bought the most depraved people the most tacky temple to their greed. Seeing something so hollow makes the trials that follow so easy to understand. The people being tried had shown just how hollow that blood investment was.

When I watch Bezos come back from space and try to describe it or Grimes at age 33 try to explain a coherent idea with all the money that has been given to them, I'm just totally on board with whatever. They're bugs.

The Paris Commune burned the :gui-better: when they took over, but goddamn maybe we can have a little :gui-trans: , as a treat. I would love to see the heads of these ghouls roll.

This is why I love this painting. Imagine never having washed your penis, not even knowing what the direction "left" is, having worms, being in the process of dying, being the worst gamer of all time, not being able to read, having had 16 children, only three of them are alive, two of them are child soldiers in the White army and then just seeing this after a lifetime of freezing cold deprivation

What's funny is that people here felt guilty over listening to her music because she dated Musk so they constructed this idea that she was a secret communist and that means it's okay to listen to her music. Which it is okay. Nobody cares. I don't know why people feel guilty in the first place. It's okay to consume media that isn't communist. It's okay to like people that aren't leftists. All this guilt and, even worse, the people who do think it's bad to like Grimes' music, is purely internet-brained shit. Communism isn't when people consume media.

yeah tbh even before she dated musk she never struck me as particularly coherent politically. People just got ideas in their head because oooh she's a quirky white girl making electronic music she must be a communist.

She did have 'anti imperialist' as her Twitter bio or whatever back in the day but even then I never saw any evidence that she knew what that meant besides like... Iraq war bad

There's an ocean of artists that I listen to that probably have bad politics we just don't know it and that's like... Whatever. Kero kero bonito could come out as a Kamala Stan and people would be posting about how they "feel betrayed" and like... What do you mean she never brought that stuff up in the first plqce

It's funny how often this needs to be said. Thinking that consumer choice matters is literally the most liberal thing you can believe, and it's frustrating that there's this sizable chunk on here that will give you shit for enjoying the "wrong" media.

      the great reset

isn't that a neo-nazi conspiracy theory about Jews replacing all white people with muslims

      • SorosFootSoldier [he/him, they/them]

It's some sort of neoliberal think tank thing about the economy, basically making everything gig orientated. What you're thinking of is the "Great Replacement" that's the one the neo-nazis think is replacing whites with non-whites.

no i think it has become a neo-nazi conspiracy theory, but yeah based on the whole neoliberal think tank thing. But I think a bunch of qanon types saw that whole thing and decided its proof of (((the elites))) trying to use covid-19 lockdowns and mask mandates and vaccines to take over in some updated New World Order type conspiracy. Or something. But it has been picked up by qanon and neo-nazi conspiracy types.

How can anyone who thinks UBI will be necessary not be a Communist? If you really think that UBI is the future because of automation what makes you think UBI can be achieved without radical changes to who owns the wealth and political power?

    I absolutely hate UBI discussions.

    • Alaskaball [comrade/them]A

The concept of UBI is that of anti-riot bribes by Capital to the working class.

After all why would a UBI be necessary in a proletarian dictatorship. You get higher pay because you don't have a CEO or stockholders taking a lions share, and you work less because you distribute the workload among a greater number of people while meeting quotas for sustainment of society instead of overproduction for the sake of profits.

It's the basic understanding that there is some sort of 'unfair' ownership distribution going on, but it does not connect that to being a systemic issue that is serious enough to condemn the system.

It's proto-leftist you might say? But it can definitely be adopted by bad actors or those who would block reform.
