It makes some good points, though I think the parallels have more to do with the subject matter of the films. Both are criticizing capitalism pretty directly.
I like the idea that the snow piercer train was built to be operated by Ooompa Loompas initially, but as their labor power waned and they died off because of dangerous working conditions and oppressive hierarchical resource allocation that they were at the bottom of, their role had to be filled by children as only children were capable of operating the machinery that was built for them (in the metaphor, child labor replaces slave labor as child labor is the most profitable form of wage labor).
