    have there actually been any instances of a large game studio being paralyzed or changing what kind of games they make because of piracy?

    The famous example is Ensemble Studios (Age of Empires) but I'm pretty sure they went bankrupt because they were bought by Microsoft and ran into the ground.

        Well music is mostly a DRM-locked internet subscription service now where people don't own portable copies of music and artists get paid less. But there are other factors in that too. But less piracy is one reason to switch to online subscriptions, the other being you can charge people money more often lmao.

            Yeah but musicians also get kinda screwed over from the streaming services as well since it is a 'better deal' for the customer but they make like a penny per stream. It still costs about as much as buying an album every month too.
