Commodity fetishism on a scale too immense to imagine. A world where every action and movement is reified and nothing exists outside the commodity form. Even the workers themselves reduced to perceiving themselves and each other as commodity.

Yep, Marx saw the system, I just don't think he saw how bad it would get. Like we exist on a whole new level of commodified reality that was only partially visible in the likes of company towns.
