Good for you taking care of things instead of letting yourself get overwhelmed. I've been trying to get started on an ADHD diagnosis and treatment.

It'll be surreal to see how different i can perceive hellworld.

If you've got glasses it's very similar to that lol. I described starting my ADHD medication as like getting glasses for my brain.

Good luck and solidarity to you comrade :stalin-heart:

At one point I was pulled to work in the hospital's optometry clinic. They had one of the mills to design and make glasses in the back. Computer-controlled, very intricate, a room full of different kinds of special polymers. I had enough issues with the mill on our small scale of a couple dozen pairs per day so I can imagine commercial producers go through parts and inputs quickly. Shame it's not something that you can easily de-industrialise and turn into a localised production chain like food. Polycarbonate still has to come from refineries and those are still dependent on Houston having perfect weather while the climate dies.

edit: Also very fun work. Optometry and ophthalmology tech are good roles if you're looking for entry-level medical work without the pitfalls of CNA/EMT/psych. Lots of interesting machines, the anatomy and physiology of eyes is neat, the workload is the right mix of diversity and technical aptitude.

Good job very exciting comrade! As a long term glasses wearer, in the future you're gonna want to get glasses from an online direct-to-consumer site, I recommend Zenni — they're miles cheaper than what you can get in stores because of the Luxottica racket. Practically every pair of glasses you'll find at stores in the US and Europe is manufactured and distributed by one company so they can set the price for all of them however they want.

If you find yourself wanting to try things on in person, Warby Parker is the exception to the aforementioned racket, they do their own manufacturing but maintain some physical storefronts.

Witness Mr. Henry Bemis, a charter member in the fraternity of dreamers. A bookish little man whose passion is the printed page, but who is conspired against by a bank president and a wife and a world full of tongue-cluckers and the unrelenting hands of a clock. But in just a moment, Mr. Bemis will enter a world without bank presidents or wives or clocks or anything else. He'll have a world all to himself... without anyone.

This is how I feel about my wisdom teeth. Figure I'll schedule for right after Christmas, but I worry that may be to optimistic... :sadness:
