Good god, then what's the point of even trying anymore? Blow the thing up and and when people ask why the centerpiece of your agenda was chucked out blame it all on Sinema and Manchin. They're already the designated heels, at least give us the catharsis of seeing them get primaried and TP'd on Halloween.

I'll be sharing that in r/politics to remind the libs that political kayfabe is real and how shitty the vast majority of DC dems actually are.

By the end of all of this the BBB will just be a piece of paper laying out how they're going to fund studies to find how viable all the original proposals are.

And it'll be a proposal of a framework of a proposal of a plan of a framework.

Part of me wishes they would just write block grants and provide funded mandates to states so they wouldn’t have to go through all this theater but I know that just kicks the can down the road and fucks over the conservative-controlled states even more

The dems fail day after week after month after month to make serious progress. And now it actually seems they are going to try to force this shit through by tomorrow so Biden can put his "X" on it before he leaves for Europe.

This is all truly amazing even for them.

    WHERE WE ARE:

    • paid family leave is OUT of the deal. Per source and Sanders on record (bt @caphilltrish). Manchin blocked it.

    • Manchin and Sanders r in major standoff over Medicare dental/vision, both signaling their view is a red line.

    • and there are a dozen other issues.

I think forcing it tomorrow is all talk. They tried doing that last month and House progressives told them to fuck off. Nothing's changed since then.

I hope you're right. Besides any last minute bill being dog shit - more and more last minute changes will cause mistakes. Imagine a typo or two that gives energy companies a few billion not for shutting down their coal power plants but for keeping them running.

Remember the handwritten notes in the margins of Trump’s tax bill or whatever lol

            the handwritten notes

Did that actually happen more than once?

Trump's presidency overtaxed my bad memory. About 100 years worth of events happened during his term. Sometime after Charlottesville in 2017 memory center just started deleting older stuff to make more room for newer stuff. That happened time and time again.

I am beginning to think Joe Manchin is really just a messy bitch who loves drama.

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) says paid family is NOT out of the package. She just had a convo with Manchin on it and he said he’d keep an open mind.

Manchin - the man himself - walks onto the stage in a "surprise". There's mild booing and hissing. Trump says "Clap. Ya gotta clap. He's good, folks." Does Trump hang out at Hexbear? The crowd politely claps at first. Trump says "Talk to Maga people, Joe. 'Cause you're the good Joe. Talk to them." Manchin pretends that he might not. But it wasn't a request - it was a demand. The crowd senses this and their mood changes.

As he walks to the mic the crowd starts chanting "Joe! Joe! Joe!..." Manchin purses his lips and instinctually slows down in surprise as he takes everything in. His eyes seem watery. Is he actually on the verge of crying? He doesn't get it. He thinks they actually like him - even love him(?) - but they don't. They are cheering because they know Trump owns his ass.

When Biden got elected, I thought he would be worse than Obama. Then for a while I thought he might be better than Obama, but now I'm leaning toward worse than Obama again. It's going to be funny when democrats lose in 2022 and 2024 except for the part where I live here. :doomjak:

Well at least there's not a :cheeto-man: in the white house ahahaha :vote:

The BBB bill is most profitable for the cable news channels who made millions in ads while the Bill “debate” gave them weeks of endless coverage to sell ads around. :parenti-hands:

They were nostalgic for Trump's 2016 candidacy there they gave the fucker billions in free media. I bet there isn't a single person in the world that could have been better for them than him running for president. He was utter magic. Month after month they got a golden Trump revenue stream from ads via page views and viewership by people both for and against Trump.
