It was extremely revealing when I started diving deeper into how the Red Army systematically shredded their asses when they finally fought them to a stalemate defense and seized the initiative.
Like it really says a lot about your military when they do outstanding against non-peer under-developed armies and peer armies that you're at peace with then suddenly launch an ambush attack after saying you're not going to attack them. Like bro you only look like you're great because you're great at being an asshole.
An entire army of gamers soyfacing while playing on baby's first fps easy mode against the AI then rage facing when they enter multi-player and get merced by a tomahawk throw at the start of the match
The entire German strategy in WW1 and WW2 was "shock and awe". They thought they would just roll over France/Poland like Britain rolled over some African nation.
They did, sure, but Germany didn't exactly have a solid plan for when that didn't work because you weren't fighting a nation a fraction of your size. They stomped Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark and Norway because they were only a fraction of the power of Germany. Taking over France was a a total fluke that only somehow worked because the French really didn't seem to understand that the Germans were obviously going to take the only war plan with a slim chance of winning. But against any tougher of a foe they didn't have any real chance. They probably could have taken the UK if not for the small detail of "50 miles of water guarded by the most powerful navy on earth vs. your puny joke of a navy", and after they ran out of easy pickings, their entire war plan just ground to a halt because they had less manpower and industrial capabilities than their enemies

I mean a lot of our cold war doctrine comes straight out of the wehrmacht playroom soooooooooooooooooo
That explains why the USA keeps getting wrecked lmao, they learned from the losers.
Totally underestmate your Enemy... !
"Lesson 1: your enemy is tactically harmed by the inferior Asiatic skull shape."
They really did learn from the Nazis.
Lesson 2: by wishing really hard you can retroactively change the outcome of things

TIK had some really good videos on this
Very sad that he turned out to be a libertarian weirdo but I suppose he just takes military history very seriously
There was also the fact that Russia had room to tactically retreat while France for example didn't
