They're something I come back to every couple of years, there's always something interesting at fanedit.org.
Trying to download fanedits can be a stress though - they've been raided by dmca so they have to make it kind of difficult to get the video files.
The whole concept doesn't get enough attention imo. The idea of being able to modify something that the accountants dictated is really attractive.
Some of them can be great! Watched both of those. Every few months I'll go back and see what the highest voted edits are and try and download a few.
The edits of Payback and The Terminator movie (3?) with the Homeland actor are amazing. I guess I'm talking about the famous edits of these two from years back. I'll watch almost any extended edition or interesting spin on movies I like.
Really, really like finding classic movies rescored with any kind of electonic track. There was a version of the 2nd SW prequel edited in black and white like a 30s flash gordon tv show, with a french house soundtrack, that somehow just worked if you were high enough lol. Can't find it on youtube now.
