They're something I come back to every couple of years, there's always something interesting at fanedit.org.

Trying to download fanedits can be a stress though - they've been raided by dmca so they have to make it kind of difficult to get the video files.

The whole concept doesn't get enough attention imo. The idea of being able to modify something that the accountants dictated is really attractive.

I made one of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, because it was super simple. spoilers for the movies follow, obviously.

    spoiler

When The Bride's name in Vol 1 is bleeped, I used that again over the tacked on ending of Vol. 1 when Bill asks Sophia "does she know her daughter is still alive?" bleeping out the "her daughter is still alive part". I also used the color version of The House of Blue Leaves fight, because I know that was the "original" intent, even though I kinda liked the black and white gimmick. Then I just spliced the two together, with an "intermission" in the middle, but I can't remember what song from the series I used for that. IIRC, Tarantino wanted another anime sequence somewhere in there, but it never got made, or at least never got released, so I obviously didn't have that, but its as close as I could get to "The Whole Bloody Affair" cut.
