He's a dandy guy. In space.

Finished up S1 today, and really had fun with it! One of my favorite things was that you could just pop into any episode and not really be missing anything. Not a ton of overarching plot until the very end of the series. Some of the plot devices like alternate universes were a little overused, but I didn't mind. Anyone else have thoughts on it?

Hopping aboard S2 in just a few minutes here.

EDIT: Turns out the S2 on the funimation app is just the latter half of what Crunchyroll has, so I'm starting Trigun!

I love the art in that show. Also, it's sort of like a Japanese parody of an American adult animated comedy, and it manages to be better than any of the things it's parodying.

I mentioned it a few months ago in an "anime only you seem to have heard of" thread, easily one of my top animes of all time. It's very silly and irreverant, but also incredibly creative and constantly deconstructing and reconstructing a huge array of tropes. "Sometimes you just gotta live with dying, baby" is the be-all and end-all of zombies as far as I'm concerned.

Definitely a really unique aesthetic, I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but ended up loving it. A tight 26 episodes, and every character had their time to shine to at least some degree.

it looks very pretty, but i haven't seen it yet. i heard shinichiro watanabe didn't get off his funny transphobic caricature hobby horse for an episode or 2 which is a bummer

I watched it when it came out. There was a lot of hype for being another space show related to Cowboy Bebop. I remember being disappointed with it honestly - for me the comedy did not land, it was uncomfortably pervy and the art style was weirdly ugly. Only gave it a few episodes.

I really liked it. Also, it's the only anime that I strongly prefer the English dubs to watching it subbed
