I feel like this is making fun of CHUDs. Like the Amazon package is clearly hinted to be toilet paper, most people realize that a car is a necessity in America, and most tenants use the fridge that came with the apartment.

You might be right. But there are people who sincerely believe this shit.

Ofc a lot of people believe something similar to this, that's what it's satirizing, lol. Then again fox news did try to debunk the existence of poverty by pointing out that 98% of Americans own a fridge.

People seem to be saying that the OP is actually serious. Lol.

I mean it's a CHUD username for sure. But all the imagery is too on the nose, and the commenters in the thread are getting it's satire. I think this is a case that there are CHUDs who are immiserated, can see that the system is unfair, and they can see through the bullshit narratives that are used to shame people in poverty. The question is are these people reachable to us, and can we win them over to our coalition without sacrificing any of the major issues of the left.

Like everyone has said, it's clear the creator of the image intended it as satire. People do agree with this sentiment however and that's why it's being satirised. I saw a thread on reddit yesterday talking about this subject and basically every post was "These people are poor because they buy *thing*". It's so illogical it hurts, do they really believe that the conservative consumer ends up rich? Shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up.

People in the thread are saying that the dude who posted it was serious. Guy is a literal landlord, and did not get the joke.

I think it's important to remember that within that large percentage of americans who live paycheck to paycheck, that includes a ton of people who make 100k a year if not more and have credit card debt. Where there are many people who make half that and get along totally fine with savings.

Within this it's important to remember that well off people really don't have any conceptualization of the fact that other working people are straight up just struggling because they don't get paid enough. They think a far higher percentage of americans have it good than they actually do.

Boomers especially legitimately don't realize how bad millennials have it.

Look, if you have leftovers, you obviously spent way too much money on food.

Jesus, why is this so hard for you peasants to understand, smh.

This one feels like satire though. The drugs are insulin and the car and baby thing seem too on the nose.

I'm almost positive this meme is not earnest, and is in fact making fun of land lords and the "JuSt BuDgEt" crowd.
