Problem is libs are going to point to this case and Derek Chauvin to dust their hands off clean and declare it's mission accomplished. Shit like this is what they can use to defend the justice system.

in that case, remind them these fuckers wouldn't even have been tried at all, if it wasn't for protest action and (inter)national attention.

The local police department was very much in the process of sweeping Arbery's corpse under the rug and they probably would have succeeded if a) the video hadn't been leaked (published? I don't remember the details) and b) the protests in response to that hadn't happened.

The district attorney has been arrested for trying to cover up the case, too

The answer is "felony murder" means you did a felony that led to someone dying. Since he did 4 felonies, like pointing his own gun, menacing with the car, etc. that creates 4 felonies and 4 felony murder charges.

If you're wondering about this, yes this makes no sense and yes this is constantly abused in our legal system.

Yeah my second question would've been if this is disproportionately used against black people, but i think i know the answer.

"Felony murder" also applies when, for example, police responding to an alleged crime kill people while doing so. That is to say if, for example, someone is suspected of shoplifting and the cops are called, and those cops run a red light and T-bone a car, killing the occupants, the alleged shoplifter gets charged with murder for the people the police killed. Or if two people commit a robbery and the police open fire wildly, killing one of them along with several bystanders, the survivor will be charged with murder for all the deaths caused by bullets fired from guns belonging to the local police department.

Same way a man can drive a car into a parade and kill 6 people and not be called a terrorist.
