Yup. The way my dad thinks is like the default for this area, where I grew up. no one knows, but AFAIK all recorded omicron cases have been mild. here's the thing though, if it's more infectious then it's bound to kill more people just because it infects more people, even if it is just as or less severe as delta, that's like the whole deal with new variants. also tbh this is something that health officials should worry a lot more than individual people, because while it might drastically change how waves behave, it doesn't change thaaat much on an individual level, and the precautions you might or might not be taking are still effective.
