Cop dramas even worse bc the cops are infinitely capable (lol, no), and also literally always morally "right". No cop dramas showing the fucking incredibly fash sentiment among themselves, the gangsterisms, etc

The Shield is pretty much nothing but fashy cops thinking they're oh so gangster only to see everything come crashing down around them.
Is it actually good?
Yeah, I think it's a fantastic show. People are put off by having these fashy cops as protagonists, but the show makes it absolutely clear by the end how pathetic these guys really are. It's basically a character study on toxic masculinity, but also just a cool show to watch, similar to Breaking Bad.

The first season is still a bit episodic here and there, but it gets better from season to season, and is one of the few shows of this type with a great finale.
