When I started working in the medical field we saw the changes around the turn of thr xentury or thr '10 where accidents we were shure would have killed people had walk off injuries. Maybe it was the crumple zone things that made them look worse than they were. I dunno. But it is a welcome change to see.
It's cool that people survive accidents like these. 50 years ago it would be 100% fatalities
