Congrats. You can. Take it or leave it but I'd say don't talk "controversial" topics like politics on a first date. Talk about music or movies or your favorite animals. Literally anything else.
You'll have plenty of time to find out their politics and if it's cool with you.
Caveat to this: IMO it's okay to dogwhistle once or twice as a throwaway line or joke, but I wouldn't do it until after the date has been going for awhile, and I wouldn't dwell on it. But if a current event comes up I wouldn't be afraid to quip about capitalism, climate change, eating the rich, etc, especially if they're receptive to it
I think most people are apolitical at this point (but I'm over 30 and haven't been on a first date in like over 8 years so that may have changed).
But when I was dating if I dropped "kill the whites" on a first date it'd end pretty quick. But if the person seemed alright they'll know you and you can explain how the US is a white supremacist state without much pushback. If that makes sense?
If you're only into dating people who are politically active though thags a different story.
i was deadset in the fucking sam harris/jordan peterson chud pipeline when i met my partner, a chad marxist who made me realize what a pedantic, pseudointellectual shit i was. i seriously wonder how far gone id be had i never met her. truly blessed
edit: shit i forgot to mention the whole point of this was to say its ok to talk politics on the first date, you might be pleasantly suprised? who knows
That's my take, def good not to go too hard but if someone's not at least receptive to basic concepts like "capitalism causes harm" then it's not going anywhere
This motherfucker got a date! Look upon my works ye mighty and weep. (Advice welcome)
