Today, we are taking a stand against critical race theory in our schools and in the workplace by calling for the enactment of the Stop W.O.K.E. Act. https://t.co/7iuEjyYKsj— Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) December 15, 2021
Not sure what I should've expected, but "Stop Wrongs Against Our Kids and Employees" is pretty lazy.
They're going to teach that in the period of slavery in the USA, African people sailed here on there own and were welcomed with open arms by the good white folks, given jobs to buy Ford F-150s, and pull themselves up by their got danged bootstraps.
It's not like this is too far off from what's actually taught in US schools, which is "Lincoln freed the slaves and so since 1865 racism hasn't been a problem".
And note how white folks exclusively clip the "judged by the content of their character" part and ignore everything else MLK said. Because you can take that one quote, remove all context, and then use it to imply things like Affirmative Action are racist because it treats people differently.
My middle school history teacher essentially told us slaves came willingly because Africans were selling the slaves. I was also told the south won the Civil War by the same person.
They always do that, a small number of willing collaborators in colonized or exploited countries are used to shift blame away from the people that are funding the entire thing.

Yeah there was a brief flare up of racism in the 60's but MLK made a speech and everyone said sorry.

I remember hearing that, that the africans sold themselves out and h'wite people just could not pass up on such an offer!

They didn’t win but they didn’t totally lose either
