LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE DOESN’t KNOW THEIR HISTORY!
The purpose of ideology is to prevent critical thinking about the status quo
A friend of mine thought communism meant everyone gets paid equally. I asked him to watch PhilosophyTube's Marxism series and that dewormed him to an extent.
I think we should focus on educating people on what communism actually means.
From my understanding of Marxist theory, people who put in more labor would get a higher share of the profit. People who work harder/smarter get rewarded more, the only difference is that the fruits of labor don't go to the capital class. This doesn't mean that people who put in less labor get paid very little, they would still be paid more than under capitalism, because most of the labor gets siphoned off to the capital class anyway. (just my understanding btw pls dont give me a struggle session)
My point is, it's far more nuanced than everyone gets paid equally, a better way of understanding it would be the abolishment of private property.
if my dept. at the grocery store i work was just a sub-unit of worker owned cooperative store whoever worked (in my dept) that day would bring home like $5-600/a day ($800-900 on weekends). that's minus costs and basic maintenance. it's crazy when you finally "move up" enough to see the financials.
oh yeah lol, if i had a dollar for every time a tech bro refuted communism because they thought they were the next jeff bezos i'd be guillotined in the revolution
The socialist/communist experience in America: being constantly talked down to by someone whose thinking about politics and history has never extended beyond their high school classrooms.
Reddit is a terrible website. Just got called a "race traitor" by a person with KKK in their username for saying South Africa is better now than it was under apartheid. Seriously someone needs to nuke that shithole of a website.
