Everytime I've checked the subreddit, other places of discussion like chapotraphouse podcast, etc... I am left confused.
What is this? Do I just not get it? What is the purpose of chapo? Why is the podcast entertaining to people?
Sorry if I sound like a dumbass but I genuinely want to know why people gather around the chapo name and listen to the chapo podcast.

Really? I thought it was related to the chapotraphouse podcast. I love citations needed, but never thought it was related to chapo... I've heard them mention chapo but not associate themselves with it.
Chapo is short hand for a listener of citations needed. C for citation, h for history of bullshit, apo is just a cute way if saying "listener".

Yeah both podcasts are run by Ligma, LLC so the server uses the Chapo name, everyone here hates that podcast though.
