the only fellow plant person I've met who I immediately felt a connection to is the elderly japanese man who sells produce and very young saplings as "starter bonsai" at the farmer's market - and that was because he noticed my 'Send Henry Kissinger to The Hague' shirt and laughed.
The back & forth temperature fluctation from like 0° to 30° this past month has likely killed 2/3 of my children I have outdoors, although my juniper (the longest lived out of any of them at ~11 years) may live if it can make it another 2-3 months to the growing season. I have little hope for my ginkgo forest, I noticed one of the trees had buds swelling yesterday and it is far too early for that imo since it just lost its fall foliage but fingers crossed. The wisteria is laughing at both of them

every landscaper I've met has definitely been a CHUD you're right
but conversely, every farmer's market houseplant seller I've met has been at the very least a typical liberal so.....
