:stalin-stressed:
"Small towns" today have basically become dilapidated impoverished shitholes that are dying out. "Small towns" in the boomer nostalgic sense were killed by suburban sprawl.
Basically every small town I've ever been to has the average age and general atmosphere of a nursing home
I don’t have the resources to leave. My entire support structure is here
The only places I could afford to own my own home were this and suburban psychosis. It probably helps that I didn't grow up here and I'm already in with some of the nice boomer libs who know everyone, though. I will say it's nice still being able to walk everywhere.
This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back.
You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill - you go on facebook boomer pages ivermectin prayer warriors for trump and complain about your nephew.
You take both pills - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
Every fucking shithole suburb in America looks exactly the fucking same and I hate living in this country.
Watch Strong Towns featured by the YouTube channel "Not Just Bikes" to learn more about the monstrosity that is North American Anglo urban planning.
That's a little like saying my Hell of a Thousand Flaming Daggers isn't as bad as the Hell of Flying Razor Bats or the Hell of Drowning in Infested Pus
Anywhere outside of Milwaukee or Madison is bad
Idk much about the place apart from purportedly being the most segregated city in America :what-the-hell:
That's right
But it's also got a decent enough lay-out and buses that I was able to get around on foot for most of my early life
That's one part of it
Also they have these massive car monstrosities that loop up forever and trigger my vertigo
All these town names sound :lmayo: as fuck
Northern states in general just sound like a miserable place to be. Almost everyone is chud as fuck and you have to deal with shittons of snow on top of that? No thanks
Ooof knowing you're in the matrix and being unable to leave it. I feel it
At least there are sidewalks on that stroad, you could have been left somewhere only traversible via car, which is most of America. Good luck crossing the road, though.
Frankie Boyle has a joke that if the neo was Scottish he would take both pills
Still amazed how we have an entire continent and it all is the same shitty unlivable sprawl of huge roads and strip malls no matter where you go
Context matters: This photo was taken a few years ago by someone standing in front of a Perkins (which is went out of business) The Payless also went out of business... probably half of the stuff in these photos is closed now.
Wisconsin is a very depressing place.
