      At best they are just a way to get you to buy more shit, at worse they can get you put in jail. Anyone who thinks google wouldnt let the state wiretap you through a smart speaker is fooling themselves

    also turn off any kind of 'hot word' personal assistant bs on your phone. Doesn't exactly make you safe from state persecution (if they really wanna, they're gonna getcha) but it's better than walking around with an active listening device in your pocket. If you're not concerned for yourself, do it for your comrades.
