On the one hand, the tensions/despair/hysteria/whatever seem very high in all the online spaces I go to right now. On the other, when people get desensitized by various horrors, the only way to make them react is come up with bigger horrors, on which soc and mass media thrive. I'm just wondering what's happening around you in the real world now? Is it the same? Is everything creaking at the seams as it feels? Like at work, or home, or school? Or is it just more of the same just at a higher pitch? Does it feel different or just more of the same?

Got an email from my school district—survey asking if we should make masks optional(sent to CHUD parents as well as teachers). Next email of the day “We may have to return to temporary virtual school becuase of a bus driver shortage” DUE TO COVID OBVIOUSLY I’ve gotten 3 emails about bus drivers dying this year. Things are going well. :yea:
