Once again, a reminder that the US Navy blamed the USS Iowa turret explosion on a gay sailor breaking up with his lover and purposefully setting off an explosive device on the ship, killing 47 people. The Navy was forced to retract its findings after a GAO investigation found the explosion was likely due to poor procedure in loading the gun barrel. The US Navy has never apologized to the public for attempting to defer blame using gay panic or the deceased seaman they slandered.

Isn't there this enemy all powerful, everything sabotaging but at the same time without power phrase?
I get really annoyed when I see leftists try to argue that like "ooooh everyone should be able to get the benefits like higher education from joining the military", like you fucking know what the military does, has done and will forever continue to do while under control of the current system yet you still want to turn minorities into butchers for the state?
I cant ever imagine spending energy trying to support a cause like that, obviously I wouldnt go and support reactionaries trying to remove it for bigoted reasons either but how can you possibly be a leftist and pretend its a good and desirable thing that minorities will get coerced into war crimes and imperialist slaughter too? Only once the military is no longer the worst imperialist force on the planet but an actual representative of the working class would I have any interest in trying to make it diverse and open to everyone or whatever the fuck.
It's not progress to fight for gay concentration camp guards and just go "oh well its at least some progress until we can actually remove the nazis from power". Like what the fuck, progress is about what a military does first and foremost not about who is doing it. The IDF fucking loves talking about how progressive they are cause of who is part of them, this argument leads to either the IDF being more good than Palestinian forces because vegans and gays, or the entire argument is worthless and disproves itself because despite the IDF being more progressive in the who, they obviously are horrifically reactionary in the what.
I hope that is an actual supreddit; if not, well, this community could start it as a mutual pet project.
