    If we go by excess deaths the US is at 800k and Russia at over 1 million.

      The number shown on that graph for the US is literally impossible. We’re at 880k official covid deaths, there’s absolutely no way we’re only at 900k excess deaths

      Edit: That’s the google number, Worldometers says we’re already over 900k official deaths. That graph is literally comparing confirmed US covid deaths to other countries excess mortality wtf

        Went and looked for some more stuff, the excess mortality in the US is was 987k at the turn of the new year according to the CDC, 205k of which weren't attributed to covid. This is still way less of a lag than I was expecting, especially if we compare it to Russia where the official covid deaths are 330k and the excess mortality is around 1 million.
