Are you sure that's the same Christopher Poole? I don't believe he ever lived in Utah, and it doesn't really sound like an uncommon name. Also, since he is somewhat a public figure, they would mention 4chan there, and I also can't find anything saying that Christopher "moot" Poole was arrested by searching for it.

      Same age as moot.

But yeah I found another Christopher Poole who is from Utah and is alive. A few dead ones too.

      So probably not moot.

There happen to be a couple people with that name, one of them is discovered to be a pedophile and you think it's probably not the guy with that name who also founded 4chan?

No way does that happen lmao, what would be an astounding coincidence

Usually I would agree with you… But what the fuck would moot be doing living in Utah of all places.

Why not? The geography doesn't really play into it for me, Im not convinced it should, then again I don't care very much and am definitely just speculating wildly

Same reason Ted Bundy loved Utah. Mormons are easy targets.

OK, but moot is not a serial killer. And he's a clear weeb who is now rich. He could probably move to Tokyo or something, and he picks Utah?

I don't know where he currently lives, but he worked for Google until 2021, so most likely California?

He lives in California and has a wife and kids now. He pretty much disavowed 4chan entirely because he wanted to live a normal life

Yeah, the dude used the money he made off selling 4chan to live the weeb life in Japan. Highly doubt he's in Utah lol

what I love about being a communist is that I have perfectly accurate information inside my head about future events. It's like when I just knew the author of the handmaid's tale was a terf before she announced it.

moot is an awkward, harmless nerd which is part of the reason he doesn't admin 4chan anymore lol

it's notable that he started looking for a buyer after gamergate when he tried to push it off the site and the users decided that he's a jew cuck who hates white people

Yeah, here is a screenshot narrative compiled by a gamergater that documents their shifting opinion of him pretty well. (bigotry and general edginess CW)

keep in mind they literally doxxed him IIRC and this was around the time 4chan was being completely overtaken by Nazis so it is very likely that someone would have tried to fuck with him if he had shut down the entire board lol

I seriously think he should have just deleted /pol/ for good after the Gamergate fiasco when they started prying into his personal life/relationships but moot was/is too naive to do it. He was like the last thing holding the site together though, it is now proven that the site had a mod coup shortly after he left and now the majority of the admin staff is Nazis. You could actually get banned for being too racist outside of /pol/ waaaay back in 2010/11

Also, I don't think he did a dialectical materialist analysis, so I don't think he realize that there would be an Internet-wide Nazi movement. Nothing like that happened until then.

Also, remember that there was a time when 4chan wasn't completely far-right. One of the big memes on /tg/ for instance was laughing at /b/ people for thinking that their racist shit was going to go over well there.

Also, someone on Reddit looked up the public records. This guy lived in Utah all his life. Not moot.
