Why else do you think Mayor Pete was talking about a per-mile vehicle tax to pay for infrastructure? Once the technology is in there to track road usage and pay for it on a road-by-road and mile-by-mile basis, that pesky infrastructure is suddenly an asset to be sold, not a liability to be maintained.
