Nuclear sub means it's powered by a nuclear reactor onboard which is a practical thing cause exhaust is super hard to deal with for a submarine and batteries are scary to rely on. Some can launch nukes as well but not by definition.
I forget which one it was, but Lions Led By Donkeys or What A Hell Of A Way To Die did a couple episodes on submarine disasters. Fuuuuuuuuck that shit.
Down the rabbit Hole has an amazing video about this absolutely fucked up fleet movement in WW1 where a bunch of subs just smashed into one another and then drifted into the destroyers they were escorting
Hunter-killer subs, I think. Smaller, faster ones designed to track and engage ballistic missile subs with torpedoes before they can launch all/some of their payload in the event of a war. By which I mean they're supposed to be trailing every known missile sub that's within striking range, ready to fire at a moments notice if it starts launching missiles.
Was there a nuclear armament involved in a crash? That could be awful, couldn't it?

Ooh I love that channel, I think I found the video in question
That's the one! It's a great watch
Are there any tactical nuclear submarines (ie. Without retaliatory capacity)? Kinda seems a little pointless.

There could be. I dunno
