I'm guessing monumental levels of corruption and nepotism at almost every level of the govt. navy, air force and industries responsible for making the shiny toys.
Dumb motherfuckers at the helm of dogshit equipment made by the lowest bidder.
more like highest bidding arms contractor
they buy the most expensive shit regardless of effectiveness
Oh no, it is the lowest bidder, they just inflate the shit out of what it's actually worth.
The military doesn't exist to win, it exists to hand money to private contractors. Only.
Maybe they shouldn't have all these military assets so far from home, half way across the globe, just to intimidate a people who's only crime is governing themselves in a way you don't like.
What's this about this ships and the sub, don't think I've heard about that one yet?
And then China said “Hey wtf how about you tell us when you’re gonna have nuclear subs in our waters, or maybe just don’t do it at all, also where did it crash and did anything leak?” And I believe the US then said “Shut the fuck up you dirty commies”
China needs to end this aggressive posturing in regards to maintaining awareness of what’s going on in their waters
I find it so funny when Amerikkkan media talks about “China’s aggressive actions in the South China Sea” like, the South what Sea? What’s that middle word again? Same as when they got mad at Iran (aka Persia) for having ships in the Persian Gulf. Like motherfuckers they live there
americans mentality: the world belongs to america we just let the natives look after it for us :amerikkka-clap:
Also Taiwan's claimed airspace extends over China, so remember that whenever the media reports on flybys
This level of fucking up is like basic lack of ability to operate their equipment.
Like when you are in a chaotic situation and you ask the person in charge a question and they answer you in a way that shows they aren't even competent enough to understand what your question means, let alone give a satisfactory answer. And the shitstorm continues to blow in the background.
nah they were two separate (deadly) incidents which is much worse

Was there a nuclear armament involved in a crash? That could be awful, couldn't it?
Nuclear sub means it's powered by a nuclear reactor onboard which is a practical thing cause exhaust is super hard to deal with for a submarine and batteries are scary to rely on. Some can launch nukes as well but not by definition.
cause exhaust is super hard to deal with
I forget which one it was, but Lions Led By Donkeys or What A Hell Of A Way To Die did a couple episodes on submarine disasters. Fuuuuuuuuck that shit.
Down the rabbit Hole has an amazing video about this absolutely fucked up fleet movement in WW1 where a bunch of subs just smashed into one another and then drifted into the destroyers they were escorting
Are there any tactical nuclear submarines (ie. Without retaliatory capacity)? Kinda seems a little pointless.
Hunter-killer subs, I think. Smaller, faster ones designed to track and engage ballistic missile subs with torpedoes before they can launch all/some of their payload in the event of a war. By which I mean they're supposed to be trailing every known missile sub that's within striking range, ready to fire at a moments notice if it starts launching missiles.
Damn I heard about the sub incident but I'd never seen the photos. They really smashed through the guardrail and drove it into a canyon huh
That's a photo of the USS San Francisco which had a similar underwater collision in 2005.
I don't think we have any drydock photos of the Connecticut damage, but here's a video of it returning to the US: https://twitter.com/WarshipCam/status/1471245843697217543
:amerikkka: literally can’t even win with no opponent
