"He's so correct. I would rather get my oil from socialist Canada with their stellar human rights record. Rather than from poor human rights countries like Saudi. :so-true: "

At least Quebec has solid hydropower and nuclear. When the inevitable Balkanization of North America happens, can Quebec join forces with the Maritime provinces to form a socialist republic pls?

But yeah, Canada is just :amerikkka-clap: with like two labor laws they forgot to abolish after neoliberalism took over.

Throwback to when one of our premiers went to the COP26 summit to promote "clean local oil and gas"

This isn't a new level. Canadian political parties have been using this argument for decades.

like Canada who want to reduce the emissions of oil and gas.

    Nice word play there

I prefer that oil is produced by countries.......

That Canada doesn't sell armored military vehicles to?

Ah yes, the fossil fuel resource whose extraction is (checks notes) the most emissions intensive is clearly the best one.

I mean, tons of reasons not to buy oil from SA but I don't think this is one of them, which makes this almost impressive.

It's like that shitty advertisement for Canadian Oil that said "in Saudi Arabia, lesbians are illegal. In Canada, they are considered hot".
