I am poor, and college, and need a phone.
I have a redmi. It's really good. It was closer to $250 CAD though.
I can't find it, can you link what you're talking about, honestly, that sounds perfect. I can get by on my flip for now.
Xiaomi makes pretty good low-price phones iirc. Bonus points, you support an AES.
The thing is tariifs are insane in the US right now lmao.
I had a look for the cumrade in your stores and boy is it expensive.
Essential PH-1. Flagship specs from 2017. I'm rocking one still. Its probably one of the best built phones I've ever used. It also helps I was friends with a guy in college who worked for them so I can complain directly. You can grab one for about 100 dollars on ebay now. Its probably the best hardware value you can find right now.
Really glad to hear it. I've never broken a screen since owning glass screened phones since 2008(knocks on wood), so I never bought a case and I don't regret it at all.
Yeah, I've gotten about 5 comments over the past few days about how cool it looks, and it's so hefty. Thanks for recommending it.
This is the best deal i could find for the US, I would invest a little bit more and get a more cost effective phone but I get it, times are hard.

I've gotten a few phones from local places that buy and sell used phones. Pretty sure some of them are stolen but you can buy a pretty good Samsung for under a hundred. Also the best buy resale website has some good deals sometimes.
Thats a waste of money, if you want to spend under 50 just get something off Craigslist.
If you can go second hand there are plenty of options. If you want something new look at the Nokia 2.2 and similar, it's around 100$ on Amazon and comes with the ability to update to Android 10 and 32GB storage and 3GB ram, along with a removable battery. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SWFLKYW?tag=gsmarena093-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1
