Yesterday I had my first union zoom meeting. I dropped a link to “solidarity forever” by Pete Seeger into the zoom chat at the end of the meeting, but then the vice chair of the union said, “oh, this guy must be new here, can anyone show him how we end our meetings?” And then moved to the last slide in their presentation which was the YouTube video of the song and everyone sang it together as they left the zoom meeting. I spent the past 10 years working in this industry without a union and now I’m learning my boss can’t criticize my work without a union rep in the meeting with me.

Free and open source software is genuinely the way computers are meant to be used imo. Recently I've become an insane FOSS radical, I even installed LibreOffice for my mom lol!
