I'm a fan of Pokemon and playing the older games, I've found it really soothing to breed competitive level mons. Currently, I'm working on making a living Pokedex starting with generation 1.
I've got five left, excepting Krabby, which I'm getting later.
I haven't played a competitive battle in years, but I always liked the idea of having a set of Pokemon I could create hypothetical teams with like the rental Pokemon in Stadium 1/2.
What about the rest of you? Anything you're doing just got you because you like it?

Working on a new novel series, or rather, I would be, but I'm still editing and revising the third and concluding book of my current trilogy.
It sucks because I want to move on but I also don't want to leave the trilogy incomplete, so I have to do it first. :stress:

I'm going to be collecting wildflowers as soon as they start blooming in a couple months, drying them, and preserving them in formed resin with backlighting like this lamp. Some are going to be standalone, others grouped. Like 3D botanical plates that double as ambient lighting.

I'm going to be collecting wild specimens for a few terrariums themed around regional ecosystems. We've got some really unique ones like alpine tundra, high desert and canyon, and mountain which I think could look neat in miniature. Just like one shelf full of them in the living room.

I'm designing a couple of RC vehicles in Fusion360 that I hope to 3d print soon for a big local hobby expo.
Also working with a friend to build a foundry so we can melt aluminum cans into ingots. Precious, precious ingots.
I make music, just finished a cover and I have an album as a goal that I work towards. I got a better drum vsti last year and am in the process of improving a few of my older songs, with and without the drums. This is probably the only thing that keeps me remotely sane and healthy.
A few years ago I began modding Halo 1 a bit and redid most of the encounters in b30. Last year I changed some of the weapon reticules which is way more annoying than it sounds. I like playing it as a roguelike and wanted to make a mod that reflects that. I just touch up on it every now and then because scripting is ridiculously fun with a real text editor.

I don’t know why it’s tickling me so much. It’s just well-worn tropes in a somewhat deceptive order. Noodling is fun sometimes, and brings me joy.
I've gotten into custom keyboards just because I love assembling shit. Got my keyboard all put together but its having some issues and based on what I'm reading from others with a similar experience it looks like I'll probably have to return/RMA my bare ones kit and start over:negative:
Oh no! But that sounds like a cool hobby. Something you can do with your hands that lets you express some creativity while helping you understand the technology you use.
My band is writing new stuff and playing our first out of state show next month, but more than that I'm quietly working on a big huge sprawling song based on Lovecraft's 'At The Mountains of Madness.' So that's been fun. I have the first movement done, meant to reflect chapter one, so the ball is definitely rolling on it, but this will take me a hell of a long time.
