This feels like a new stage of collapse for the country. Police targeting a business and literally pulling highway robberies because they know it doesn't have the political connections to protect itself.
It's funny, armored car companies are so used to working with cops they have no idea how to handle it. Why would you train your employees to tell them what they are doing?
Yeah this is literal gangster shit, knocking over armored trucks hauling cash. And this is like, fine? Nobody cares?
:thumb-cop: I am literally committing robbery and spending the money gambling, on drugs, and hiring a hit man to kill my ex wife.
:frothingfash: Just don't spend it all in one place!
Not only that, they are using license plate readers to automatically flag any vehicles owned by the armored car company. Then making up excuses to pull them over.
Surveillance state, mafia state shaking hands meme.
and the Judge is backing the cops :surprised-pika:
Empyreal filed a federal lawsuit against several law enforcement agencies demanding the federal government stop these “highway robberies.” On Monday, the court denied Empyreal’s request for a temporary restraining order.
“The court is compelled to express its concerns regarding Empyreal’s litigation tactics,” District Judge John W. Holcomb wrote.
Sueing over literally getting robbed is 'litigation tactics', but Steven Donziger getting screwed over by a legal team hired by the company he won a trial against is perfectly legitimate
Why would you train your employees to tell them what they are doing?
Probably not a bad tactic to try to keep the employees alive.
Shouldn't they have treated the cops like any other highway robber? Don't stop, drive fast, hope the bulletproof glass holds?
Normally I’d agree but this is an armored car company. “Defending the contents of the car from armed assailants” is actually the job description this time
I'm not saying they shouldn't, just that it'd be funny to expect armored car guys to oppose the cops or even to be braver than the cops.
Why tell them it's weed money though? Say the company has a lot of different clients, maybe mention some of the non-weed ones. If they press on about it say you can contact the company if you want detailed logs of what is from who and where it's all going, but it's a weird thing to ask on a traffic stop. "I just work here man."
In bad country the police are corrupt and will pull you over for bo reason until you give them a big enough bribe
The pigs have been doing this shit in legal states for years now.
They've raided dispensaries too.
The workers should be armed and ready to defend themselves.
Good point, just wish someone could stand up to them.
The solution is to give the police more money, sweaty!
