so we're having debates about how we should handle discord moderation without unjust hierarchies why don't we wheel out gandalf the kautskyite from his armchair hibernation to settle it
shout out nuked hasanabi discord i just found out about that happening hahaha lmfao
My favourite Chomsky-ism is Vaush emailed him and Chomsky, who replies to everyone including me for fucks sake and people asking him about sonic the hedgehog, didn’t reply to Vaush.
I had a legit reason to email Chomsky, it was about linguistics and clarifying something he'd said in an article that I wasn't sure about. He was very helpful.
Edit - clarified why I emailed him because I just abruptly stated I had a good reason to do so without explaining.
More likely: he dunked on V*ush so hard he refused to admit it. That would be super embarrassing, getting dunked on by Chomsky
That actually makes a lot of sense, he emailed him to back up some stupid braindead point he was making and Chomsky tore it apart so badly he just decided to say he never replied.
Lmfao maybe old man choms is online enough to know :funny-clown-hammer: is a bad hombre
I imagine he's probably gotten plenty of letters from bosh stans and stosh haters asking whether or not the dude has a shit/notshit take on whatever flavor of dumb phrasemongering is in every week. and doubtlessly some of the dweebs included video links or transcripts. Probably gets asked to either get interviewed by or debate with him too.
I'm willing to bet he knows more than he's willing to let out, knowing he'd be entering a morass if he even hints he knows about vaush.

“online elections are a perfect idea and there’s no way it could be abused on a site that lets you register as many accounts as you want.”

Chomsky does describe himself as a communist.
From Wikipedia, quoting Chomsky's 1976 interview with Peter Jay
Chomsky describes himself as a " libertarian socialist or anarcho-syndicalist or communist anarchist, in the tradition of, say, Bakunin and Kropotkin and others. They had in mind a highly organized form of society, but a society that was organized on the basis of organic units, organic communities. And generally, they meant by that the workplace and the neighborhood, and from those two basic units there could derive through federal arrangements a highly integrated kind of social organization which might be national or even international in scope. And these decisions could be made over a substantial range, but by delegates who are always part of the organic community from which they come, to which they return, and in which, in fact, they live."
Oh. Sorry. Don't know the media reference, so I guess my ignorance ruined the moment. 😞
nah, it's a part of the medium that is the internet, sarcasm doesn't translate well and I'm personally not in favour of the /s. Kaiserreich players are always making fun of each other for comparing Kaiserreich things with the real world. Like stanning Huey Long and whatnot.
I don't think they are necessarily incompatible, but they have pretty different focuses in terms of how to build toward socialism.
Doesn't his discord have a rule banning "extremism(fascism, communism, etc.)"?
Hasan seems to want at least socialism so it would be strange is communism was suddenly a hard no.
