The frozen FX reserves are the savings of 38 million Afghans over 20 years. You can’t give them back their own money as a favor in the form of humanitarian aid. The US can give their pledged humanitarian aid to Afghanistan - $516 million - to the 9/11 victims.

Just gets more and more vile the more you look into it

what will likely happen is that all of that money stays in the US. if Afghanistan is ever so lucky, they'll be allowed to use that 3.5B to save some US business by buying, idk, soy, at a markup

They won't in any meaningful numbers. Although I did read that Pakistan bought some, the demand for that is very limited (what, China or Russia, or their allies buying US weapons like that? there won't be the end of it in the Western media). And they need it. And a lot of it is trashed. And Taliban is trying hard to look respectable so that countries remove them from their terrorist lists and do real diplomacy. And it's not the way to feed the people anyway, not in any long term sustainable way.

and isn't there literal starvation in Afghanistan right now? but the USA wants that to try to make their withdrawal look "bad" and to destabillize attempts to integrate the region into Belt and Road

which is dumb as the chinese have the money to smooth past this is they want which given Afghanistan's vast mineral weath they might well do. Although they don't seem that interested at the moment

And today, yesterday's pro-American opposition forces in some other troubled country are plotting the next 9/11!

So the upcoming genocide in Afghanistan and the previous one Iraq that Madeleine Allwhite thought worth it both were under democrats. We just need to vote more of them in so that nothing fundamentally changes.

And remember: don't ever let anybody tell you that its simply the US taking back their money, and that this is all because of the choices of the Afghan people.

The conditions of Afghanistan, the existence of the Taliban, the absolute destitution and poverty are a result of American involvement. Just another ghoulish act in a series from this blood-soaked system.

New US war strategy just dropped. Get the military out and just siphon all of their money so you kill people through sanctions. And honestly it’s working, the American public don’t give a fuck about this because there’s no reporters to show us blowing up cities.

Everyone thinks this is an evil and ghoulish idea. Even the peak neoliberals.
