Why is everyone here so worked up about a Netflix slop adaptation of a cartoon for babies?

      1: we're nerds

2: it's emblematic of broader trend of enshitification of media, so it's more just a medium to vent our general frustration about the state of art right now

3: ATLA was a kids show, but it was meant for somewhat older kids and genuinely very well written and acted so I think "for babies" is a bit unfair

I'm probably not the best guy to answer this, but the production resources being put into the hands of the total troglodytes who can't grasp simple aspects of a text definitely annoys me.

the fact that a live action show aimed at adults is being made with less trust in the audience to handle any sign of moral ambiguity than the show for babies is noteworthy

because the "babies" who this is made for are the 20-39 age bracket

      also kill all nostalgia profiteers

      also all americans

I think it's the fact that it's an obvious contradiction of capitalism on display and it's still getting money and hype. For me it's watching storytelling and media take a backseat while cool art is going underfunded. I'm seeing the waste and it makes me sad.
