Bitcoin is a store of energy like a picture of a battery is a store of energy.

does not have any energy dissipation

He said while turning 400 GPUs into space heaters that he uses yet more power to cool.

The highly volatile bitcoin could explode at any moment. As a bitcoin wallet inspector, you are required to give me your keys so I can assess safe handling.

this post reminds me of this guy i met about ~15 years ago. he was a friend of my friend and he had some cool weed. my friend thought this guy was a visionary genius. he was confident and affable. i remember being on facebook and there being a discussion between parties about peak oil. to put it in context, the whole global financial crisis was still on everyone's mind and one of the aspects about it that isn't discussed much anymore is how it spiked gas prices in the US to about double what they were and are today. shit was wild. a lot of people made significant changes to their lifestyle, not because they gave a shit about the planet, but because their commute ate up their wages. lots of people my age (mid 30s at the time) were suddenly back living with their parents, bigass SUVs were going for dirt cheap on craigslist. the social science term bandied about was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demand_destruction

anyway, this discussion is happening with people talking about how to be strategic and avoid future energy price shocks. and Mr. Visionary Genius says that peak oil is an alarmist myth, because there is infinite oil. by this he means the oils our bodies secrete and the oils in plant tissues.

naive idiot i am, i tried to explain the distinction between fossil fuel oil and biofuel oil and ERoEI, but none of that broke through. because human have oily foreheads. so we can drive cars forever, because infinity oil.

I heard someone unironically say the "there's a car that runs on water but the government covered it up" bit. This week.

Yeah, we have a heap of calcium carbonate and water around so we can make as much hexane/octane as we want, simples! Definitely no problems there...

"Peak oil won't happen because scientists will discover an infinite supply of oil in their hair" is a Scott Adams joke from 1997. Which is after he peaked, but before he turned into a CHUD.

This is nothing less than cult mentality, complete with its own utterly detached reality.

To further understand how Bitcoin energy usage, or wattage works, you have to search by the official term Big Bitcoin Wattage or BBW

Everyone should be looking at BBW to understand how this works

Can someone explain me what's the difference between Nitter and Twitter?

So far as I can tell, nitter is someone else's front-end for twitter. Reads the data from Twitter's back-end database, but then has its own UI. I would imagine this cuts down on ads or circumvents whatever corporate shit twitter is doing with its UI that is undesirable.
