        I think China just announced that it is going to import more barley and wheat from Russia (apparently there were restrictions for some areas in Russia; now these restrictions are all lifted).

        China has almost 10 times the population of Russia

        Yet China has less land, and a not-insignificant percentage is desert/high mountainous plateau

        I feel like this is the most significant barrier.
