this is the German Blohm & Voss P 170 bomber, which was only proposed, never actually built

still, the WW2-era German arms industry was fucking wild, guess this is what meth and extreme racism does to your brain

    Blohm & Voss

Letting a shipyard design combat aircraft totally makes sense. Everyone knows that a plane is just a boat floating higher on the z-axis.

It was apparently supposed to be a "fast bomber", a concept of a bomber that wouldn't need any guns on it since it would just outrun the interceptors. That's why it has three engines.

I'm not sure if this would have even worked (and clearly the Germans weren't either, since they never built them, not even a prototype to test things out), since the bomber would obviously be weighed down by, you know, the bombs, and I don't know if those extra engines would have really made it fast enough to outrun a much lighter plane.

Each motor is custom-built and needs their own factory process to manufacture replacement parts for

Everything I know about aerodynamics is from Kerbal Space Program and SimplePlanes. Looks like it will fly alright to me. Lateral stability would probably be crap tho.

Seems like you might have some issues with visibility if you were to fly this up into the air and try to look around from the canopy.

for airforce stuff, you have to account for the taste of Herman Göring, who was more into opiates than meth. no, seriously, when the Americans caught him after the war, he had an entire suitcase of pills and ampoules, morphine, oxycodone, an especially large stash of his drug of choice, dihydrocodeine, and they took it all away. and he was like "hey, can i keep just a little bit so i don't start withdrawing?" and they were like "lol. lmao."

imagine how shitty this thing would handle too. like you're in the cockpit on the dickhead of the plane getting tossed around because you're at the end of a useless metal tube going as fast as possible

If you ever want to enjoy the combination of geocities era web design and German paper wunderwaffe, check out Luft46. That site has been around forever. I've never dared dig into the site owner.

This 1944 design was powered by two BMW 003 jet engines and was armed with two MK 193 30 mm cannon on each side of the fuselage and one MG 151/20 200 mm cannon in the nose.
