that's the only thing i'm still chained too. if this place got maybe x10 bigger i think it could fullfill the niche subs just by sheer numbers. be smaller, more intimate coms
If you have a niche interest, you could always request a com for it. If enough people show interest, it's easy to creat a com.
The issue is that it's difficult to have many niches in a place with a core userbase in the hundreds of people
don't browse regularly, go once a week and get your fill
i still have to look up stuff and occasionally i have to open a reddit thread, but it's for 5 minutes max once every week or two, not scrolling for hours :communism-will-win:
I've barely been here a month and I already enjoy this so much more. Reddit is awful and I've been in the trenches arguing with libs the past few days. Why do I do this to myself?
Honestly yeah it's bad for my mental health, which is why I stopped using it. Even GenZedong is kinda meh at best.
At this point I only use it on the fairly rare occasion I want porn. For a while I was checking /r/antiwork and /r/collapse, but at this point those just make me feel like shit so I don’t even do that.
Agreed, porn is its only worthwhile use.
I stopped about 2 years ago, and I have a happy relationship, an unrewarding but steady job, and thick, lustrous hair.
:reddit-logo: is only slightly bearable with HEAVY filtering and with now-banned (guess why) anti-fash tools and even with all that shit you'll still be completely overrun with :LIB: and :frothingfash:
So many subreddits are either controlled opposition (basically every socialism subreddit) CIA-OPs (All defaults) or outright Nazi shit masquerading as entertainment (bonehurtingjuice, holup, anything with 'meme' in it)
Memes and pictures are surprisingly left, though also very lib. Dankleft, Completeanarchy and a few anti fascist subs are also enjoyable imo.
They went mask-off fash awhile ago. What they wanted to do was slowly honey people to the idea of fascism but when it took off and became its own thing they got impatient and ripped the mask off.
Go to boneachingjuice instead, not only are the memes of much higher quality, but the staff aren't pushing a cryptofash agenda and don't have ties to OKBR, another cryptofash meme subreddit.
Boneachingjuce was created as a direct result of bonehurtingjuice going mask-off fash and shutting down because too many people were calling out the racist undertones.
Ya I never see the front page of Reddit, I look at like one or two subs now and again that I go directly to. Obviously don’t have any Reddit apps. Much better way to live.
I dunno if you go to hobby or interest specific things that are as far away from politics as you can get, it can be bearable. For instance I’m a soccer fan of a team in a city I left 15 years ago and it’s nice to feel that sense of community.

In 4 months I think a lot of us will be 2 years clean. Only good sub and whatnot. Besides CoolAmericaFacts that is.
This is really solid advice, I barely ever use reddit and the times I do just make me angry. The politics subs are either fashy or full of libs with trump derangement syndrome. Local subs are full of boomers who want to murder the homeless. The comment sections are full of people making the same terrible puns and catchphrases ("play stupid games, win stupid prizes!"). I tried to stick to smaller hobby subs but the site is infested with hostile debate bros. Mostly stay away from reddit (twitter too) and couldn't be happier.
This is the only social media I’m using atm would I be better off quiting this one too
