My lib friend is insisting that Germany is about to declare war on Russia. Is this complete and total nonsense like I suspect?
That’s pretty much what I said to them, but they were insistent that their German friend who works for ARD told them this.
I'm not in Germany, but they are supposedly sending weapons to Ukraine. So at least aiding Ukraine in its war against Russia. They could be technically at war without formally declaring it though, since being at war is also defined by "acts of war" in international law.

I have friends in Germany who would know and no, they're not.
Even the SPD, the party known for history's dumbest takes, the guys who wilfully blundered into supporting WW1, isn't quite that dumb.
