From Software: "Here, have this wide variety of fun tools to customize your gameplay experience. You can be a dragon, or shoot swords or summon a bunch of cool dudes. Go nuts."

    Veteran Dark Souls Player:

I also use no skills, no summons, no spirits, just greatsword

    also

If I get hit I’m dead anyway, I love this

(just made me laugh, enjoy your time. :meow-bounce: )

Learning to no-hit parry-only the Crucible Knight with my level 15 +2 upgraded assassin build was harder than any DLC fight in DSIII and I loved it. The changeups he would use with his tail swipes still give me the jeebies

Man, that guy suuuuucks. I no hit him just dodging; tried parrying, but I cannot get the timing down; way wonkier than Sekiro, which I am more used to. But his windows to duck in, slash, and duck out are super narrow, took more tried than I'd care to admit.

Fun that you are saying that. Perhaps the most deaths/minute i've had in this game so far. I was thinking about how far these games have come. Artorias was a joke against this guy. So many variations, different delays, mixups you have to get down before you have a chance.

Parried the fuck out of him at the end.

If this is your first Soulsbornkiro, god have mercy.

In retrospective, coming back with a little more dmg and hp would have saved a little sanity.

ER is both the most forgiving and the most punishing DS games. You get checkpoints before the boss room, the Coop item is effectively free and unlimited, you get AI buddies if you want them, mounted battle vs world bosses. But also extremely fast bosses with n hit combos, flying bullshit, those fucking centipedes, and way more dragons than you would expect.

Theyve had to AI the punish heals since like dsii but theyve really only been used on npc invaders.

Makes the bosses feel more lifelike, I agree. It's tough as fuck though

DS 1 Knights would stinger attack you the moment you started sipping on that estus. It's been a staple since a while.

I got Margit's ass at SL1 with a 2-handed spear (but used the shackle, summon, and wolves) and I could take a hit, maybe two, before going down

Margaret hits like a truck, but the moveset is very predictable after thirty tries. He's a good skill-check, basically the end of the tutorial.

yeah this game is like quick dark souls

it almost doesn't rely on level. I've beaten bosses so far that I probably wasn't supposed to have fought yet by learning their moveset, and I stayed at level 1 for an insane amount of time. Investing in health is definitely necessary to avoid dying immediately

also so far I've come across very few items to summon people with to help me with bosses, and 2/3 times they immediately die lol

You can make the co op item really easily with erdleaf flowers, the little orange glowy plants everywhere. You need two to make one remedy. I have like 80 just from running around and grabbing them while doing everything else

I think it's 1000 but no idea lol. Just for the option of not engaging with crafting I guess, keeps it in line with humanity and ember of previous games

I am sadly a scrub who must use spirit ash to distract bosses :sadness:
