Wonder why a Republican might want to do this in a midterm election year
And they'll insist she's one of the good Republicans now because she "hates Russia."
She's really overestimating Americans willingness to sacrifice anything for anything.
Seriously, how can anyone think Americans will sacrifice anything at all when a solid half the damn country lost their minds over a piece of cloth?
Americans are more than willing to sacrifice, as long as they personally don't have to sacrifice anything. If they think / know that they won't be impacted, they are more than willing to ask OTHER people to sacrifice everything.
Gee, I wonder why they don't mention what state she represents. Surely not because Alaska is a huge oil state.
I expect the senators from North Dakota to also follow this line, restarting the oil extraction there will be great for their donors. Also terrible for the planet and the stolen native land it will be taken from.
So how do these two imagine this'd go. The US is a country basically built entirely around petroleum and from what I gather prices have already been rising.
Simple. We poison more indigenous land so Robert can drive his pickup truck to McDonald’s
Manchin and Murkowski are both from oil states
Blocking Russian imports is great for domestic producers because it artificially constrains supply
Does WV have oil? I thought it was all coal mountains and bears down there. honestly expected the dakotas to be more aggressively pushing for sanctions, as well as Oklahoma and Texas, since those are the big oil states.
WV is a big frack state, one of the larger producers of natural gas and natural gas liquids, the heavier of which can compete with the lighter end of the oil barrel. Also, many of the companies that frack gas in WV also frack oil in other places
I’m sure the demons from those other chud states are pushing too but in this case our iron jawed angel is unique in that he’s a democrat, thus demonstrating oil sanctions are bipartisan 🥰
1 month after this “Biden made gas more expensive when he cut us off from trade partners “.
Huh, I guess she's thinking strategically over Alaska's resource export potential.
