Another great bit here:

“Grimes also says that she and Musk plan to have more kids. As for the cognitive dissonance of a once-leftist artist being in a relationship with the world’s richest man, Grimes gets philosophical:”

I mean, when people say I’m a class traitor that is not… an inaccurate description. I was deeply from the far left and I converted to being essentially a capitalist Democrat. A lot of people are understandably upset… But at the same time, like, bro wouldn’t even get a new mattress… Bro does not live like a billionaire. Bro lives at times below the poverty line. To the point where I was like, can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house? Where the neighbors, like, film us, and there’s no security, and I’m eating peanut butter for eight days in a row?

Marx failed to consider a rich guy who has an old bed.

Sideræl—“sigh-deer-ee-el”—which she calls “a more elven” spelling of sidereal,

Danish people are not elves, Claire, we're real humans with jobs and dreams, Claire.

The name is gibberish and it doesn't sound elvish at all. To me it sounds more like an obscure antiquated West Jutlandic fisherman's term for something on a boat.

sidereal means you use the distant stars as reference for time, rather than the solar reference. It's useful for astronomy mostly since the same object at the same sidereal datetime will be in the same place, whereas in solar time they move around a bit.

      Also:

It’s also a nod to her favorite Lord Of The Rings character, the powerful Galadriel, who “chooses to abdicate the ring.”

Like, is this saying they're going with even the most extreme version of the "firstborn son" inheritance strategy and that this kid ain't gonna get any of the billions, or what? LMFAO.

Also, nerd rant: Gandalf, Elrond, and Bombadil also all "abdicated the ring". It was a pretty common theme for everyone outside of the idiots from Gondor to do that (credit to Faramir, who also rejected the temptation to go for it). So, like, okay: Galadriel was cool and the only prominent woman among the "great ones" from the main books, but picking her out specifically for the fact that she "abdicated the ring" is a pretty dumb. Obviously Grimes' "care-free not-at-all" attitude about reality extends to even the fiction she's a fan of. I really hate the phenomenon of celebrity (and private property, obviously, and when they're combined...).

Turning down the Ring is the high point of Galadriel's character arc though. Like, it took her literally thousands of years, but she learned her lesson about power and ambition.

I am going to name my child Bombadil and his first words will be " Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dillo!"

I will buy him a St. Bernard and name it Fatty Lumpkins

real humans with jobs and dreams

Really? The only job I ever see Danes doing is day drinking.
