We know people with bad intentions are watching this site. Stick with the same account for too long and you run the risk of revealing too much personal information about yourself. It is a good practice to swap out accounts regularly to keep your identity safe.
Imagine your cake day not being the same day as the anniversary of the site :tofu-cool:
Imagine not having been a beta tester, back when we could reply with embeded images, yet made an account a day late when the main site was launched
Basically, I just lie about everything. You all might be surprised to find out that I am in fact NOT the famed cartoonist Benjamin Garrison.
lmao right? I have seeded this account with dozens of lies. Pretty much every time the opportunity comes up to reveal personal info, guess what, that's another lie right there. They're consistently contradictory too - so good luck divining whatever inklings of truth I've left in there from the mountain of lies!
Bet you thought you were clever, but I see through your ruse; you really are Ben!
I have thousands of comments in this site but all of them are just the word "cum" so I dont worry
Listen if I'm the guy that they want to murder that's really pathetic Some people on here actually do communist stuff, I'm literally just some wagie who shitposts, I'm actively a detriment to have around and they would be doing this site a favor by offing me
i have googled my full legal name, home town, and date of birth
there are 8 results
none of them are me
edit: googling this username pulls up my hexbear account, my reddit account, and a bunch of accounts that also are not me lol
I found out through googling my name that EXpressive Arts Therapy is a thing.
Edit: Also the expressway authority of Thailand
imagine some random person who happens to share your account name getting harassed by internet nazis bc of it lmao
This happened with my old :reddit-logo: account on chapo. Some Nazis harrassed someone on the other side of the country because they thought it was me lmao
Hell, i've got three names i go by. My given name, the name i go by, and my gimmick name. And, if you google my username, all you'll get is merch for a podcast thats been dead for 3 years (rip E&C'sPOA).
i mean this happened to a prominent user here and we had to restructure the way admins handled the site bc of it, certainly possible. I think the main thing is you should limit your communist shitposting to an account that isn't attached to anything else you do online.
that particular admin had the worst fucking opsec it's possible to have
their reddit account was heavily associated with their name here, which would be fine except they posted their (uncommon) name, family history, job, and worst of all they had an honest to god OFFICIAL family coat of arms, like registered and everything, and posted that
I assume it was something that developed over time I had zomething similar with an old account that I used before I became a socialist, which I dumped near when the old sub got banned.
But yea all the more reason to keep your communist posting pn a dedicated account
yeah, to be fair to them, they had posted all that stuff (i think) years ago
but one person sitting there scrolling through your post history and there goes every shred of anonymityBut yea all the more reason to keep your communist posting on a dedicated account
:100-com:
Or if you have the same account name across multiple sites, but all you ever do is le epic reply guy shitposts.
Shit, last thing I need is for the fed to learn about my job at the True Value on Baker Street in southern Florida. If I got fired from there I’d have to rely on my girlfriend Rebecca for support, and we can barley afford out split level blue rancher on Jones Ave zip code 42069! What will my parents Mark and Samantha say!!!!
there really isn’t any reason [not to swap accounts]
Chasing clout. :squirtle-jam:
:this: Lying online is praxis and I do it regularly. And I've been through a few accounts while on here just to be sure
You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?
:arthur-punch:
I do have friends here though so I don't really want to totally reset that
don't worry. the only personal information i reveal is that i'm very funny :comfy-cool:
I just make sure that I don't actually know my passwords so every time I accidentally log out I need a new account.
OPsec is about being careful, not paranoid. Usually it's the scared ones who end up with the biggest vulnerabilities.
That being said, never password reuse. Only takes one database breech for you to lose everything.
If any secret services or bad actors waste their time on me, joke's on them.
alternatively have a year old account and rarely post :thinkin-lenin:
