Western Leftists to the Global South: Most of you will die, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

He does target two realities which liberals never talk about:

    1. Nuclear war (nor global warming, nor anything really) will ever end life on earth, or even all human life on earth
the way libs talk about these things is as if everything that happens, happens to everyone equally, and ignores the selfish motives of the people who it would happen less to, or not happen to at all.

    2. Nuclear winter...is just a hypothesis. It would not happen from a limited (100 or so) nuclear exchange, and even if it did it would simply offset global warming and mainly damage the global north

But some people somewhere will probably be fine.

and this is an extremely important fact, because it only takes a couple of people for nukes to start flying. And those people are also the most likely to "probably be fine" after such a scenario.

pretending that they don't know what they're doing ignores the fact that a few people actually have a self-interest in hitting the nuclear button.

I don't necessarily agree because even if you're Jeff Bezos or :melon-musk: your quality of life will diminish if you kill the working class. There is one parasitic class and it's not the workers.

Claim: Climate change will kill everyone

FACT: Climate change will wreck everything so much with famines and ecosystem collapses that every single aspect of life will end up going back to be like in 1850, especially the population number.

      Rating: PANTS ON FIRE

As soon as the nukes are flying all bets are off it will be basically easy to keep the war limited

by "limited exchange" I meant something like everyone's silos get nuked halfway into the ordeal and then there's nothing left to fire. Assuming that both parties know where all their opponents' silos are (dunno if they actually do)

What happens when your nukes are wiped out? How much damage was already done, will you be bombed further with impunity?

What if you launch a limited strike and destroy the enemy's silos ? Hundred of Millions of your people will still die from planes already in the air and most importantly subs.

Both the US and the SU had the same answer to these problems in the cold war: launch everything. The only limited strike scenario that was considered was to launch a nuke at a single city if the enemy had advanced to far in a conventional war, to prove you mean business. And this is why nuclear powers necessarily will become hysterical if it comes to the alliances and potential missiles stationed in such countries such as Cuba or Ukraine, the shorter the flight time, the shorter your time-span to detect the launch and get your nukes off the ground, the higher the likelihood a psycho on the other side thinks they can actually pull it off to disarm you in a first strike,
